Shomrei Torah Religious School (STaRS) welcomes children in grades K-7 into our nurturing, joyful and hands-on Jewish education program.
Our primary educational goals are to open a door to learning for every student and to foster a love of Jewish tradition and community. Our goal is that every child will be a lifelong participant in Jewish communal life.
To make Jewish education fully accessible to your family, we offer compelling programming, online materials for Hebrew study at home, family education opportunities, field trips, and an open-door policy for parents and guardians to volunteer. We expect our students to support and participate in the life of our synagogue, their Jewish community and the community at large.
Tuition assistance is available from the Billie Blumenthal Religious School Scholarship Fund. Click here to register!

8th – 12th Grade Madrichim Program
Shomrei Torah’s Madrichim Program welcomes 8th-12th Graders into our religious school to be outstanding Jewish role models. Our madrichim take on that responsibility by bringing in their own passions and knowledge, ensuring a healthy and positive learning and playing environment, and assisting in the overall process of the religious school day. Our madrichim learn vital skills to be Jewish educators.
If you are interested in applying to be a Teacher’s Assistant (Madrich), fill out this application: 2017-18 Madrichim Application PDF

Congregation Shomrei Torah for the past 3 years has been involved in a partnership with the Union for Reform Judaism, the Legacy Heritage Fund and URJ Camp Newman. At the end of the 2015-16 school year, Shomrei Torah was featured among over 60 congregations in similar partnerships as a overwhelming success story. Check out the Shomrei Torah feature in the URJ’s annual report HERE.
We welcome parent participation as we continue to develop our program. Feel free to contact our Associate Rabbi and Education Director, Rabbi Stephanie Kramer, at 707-578-5519 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
