STARS Religious School
Shomrei Torah Religious School (STARS) welcomes children in grades K-7 into our nurturing, joyful and hands-on Jewish education program.
Our primary educational goals are to open a door to learning for every student and to foster a love of Jewish tradition and community. Our goal is that every child will be a lifelong participant in Jewish communal life.
To make Jewish education fully accessible to your family, we offer compelling programming, online materials for Hebrew study at home, family education opportunities, field trips, and an open-door policy for parents and guardians to volunteer. We expect our students to support and participate in the life of our synagogue, their Jewish community and the community at large.
When is Religious School?
School meets on Saturday afternoons (Kindergarten through Grade 5) from 3:30- 5:30 and Wednesday afternoons (Grades 4 through 6) from 4:00-6:00 September 17th through May 5th.
Grade 7 meets monthly on Sundays with an additional few sessions. Most 7th Graders are also in Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation training programs which are scheduled on either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday afternoons. We welcome parent participation as we continue to develop our program. Feel free to contact our Rabbi | Education Director Rabbi Kramer at 707-578-5519 or e-mail us
2012-2013
As you know the STARS program is proud to debut a new schedule. Instead of meeting on Saturday afternoons we will now meet on Sunday mornings. This will hopefully alleviate some of the scheduling conflicts that your family faced and it will allow each of our classes to have their own permanent classroom. Now our entire school will be able to come together in prayer! To be able to accommodate all of the students on Sunday mornings we must have a split schedule. The new schedule will be…
Kindergarten-3rd Grade Sunday 9:00am-11:15am
11:00am-11:15am All School T’filla (Services)
4th grade- 7th Grade Sunday 11:00am-1:00pm
May 4th Kindergarten & First Grade Family Shabbat
Kindergarten and First grade parents are encouraged to attend Family Shabbat. Directly before services we will be providing dinner for all the Kindergarten and First grade families. There is a nominal charge of $10 per family to cover our costs.
Message From Rabbi Kramer:
Please take a moment to download our exciting Religious School Calendar. Here you will find all of the dates for the entire year. Each grade level has one Family Education Day, one Field Trip, a Family Shabbat, and a Havdallah Social. Parents are expected to attend these special opportunities with their children.
