Congregration Shomrei Torah co-sponsors Chaverim, an exciting new program for Sonoma County teens. Chaverim is a unique venue for social and educational events that inspire involvement in Jewish life. Members meet twice monthly for a director-led peer dinner discussion centered around Jewish ethical topics relating to teens. Teens also meet monthly for social and community events: camping, skiing, dances, services and social action.

Chaverim is inspired by the most successful aspects of Congregation Shomrei Torah's Tzaddikim program and Congregation Beth Ami's Kehillah program. The program is overseen by Rabbis George Gittleman and George Schlesinger with support by a parent-led Advisory Committee. Temple affiliation is not required for Chaverim families.
Rick Concoff is the Program Director for Chaverim. In 2006, Rick was honored with the Diller Award for excellence from the Bureau of Jewish Education for his work with Sonoma County teens. Rick can be reached at (707) 823-3916.
We are thrilled to announce that Chaverim has been awarded a grant from the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties!
