The Year of Our Torah

August 30 and 31 were days full of happiness, joyful tears, solemnity, and glee as more than 200 members of Shomrei Torah each wrote a letter in what will soon be our new Torah. It could not have happened without the help of a ‘village’ of volunteers who made each step of the day possible.

Thanks to our Year of Our Torah Committee, Marlene Stein, Marcy Marrin, Paul Munson, Judith Goleman, Gesher Calmenson, Cynthia Calmenson, Manny Nestle, Fran Brumlik, Billie Blumenthal, and Rabbi George for setting out the plan for the day, and to the following volunteers:

Torah Dedication - November 15, 2009

More than a year in the making, Shomrei Torah’s new Torah scroll will be unveiled and dedicated at a special ceremony featuring the world premier of an original musical composition for string quartet by renowned composer and CST member Nolan Gasser.
