Jewish Theology - A short bibliography by Rabbi George
Sacred Fragments: Recovering Theology for the Modern Jew, Neil Gillman - Excellent introduction to Jewish Theology from a master teacher. Have had complaints about the lack of gender sensitive language around God.
Seek My Face, Speak My Name: A Contemporary Jewish Theology, Arthur Green - Poetic, and thoughtful, this book offers a contemporary and understandable approach to Hasidic thought as seen through the Reconstructionist lens of Rabbi Green.
God Was In This Place and I, I Didn't Know It: Finding Self, Spirituality, and Ultimate Meaning, Lawrence Kushner - This wonderful book shows how 7 great rabbis struggle to understand one verse and what it teaches us about God and ourselves, each one imparting a different but essential kernel of knowledge along the way.
A Jewish Theology, Louis Jacobs - another excellent overview of Jewish Theology.
Finding God: Ten Jewish Responses, Rifat Sonsino and Daniel Syme - Concise overview of how God is envisioned from the Torah to the present. Very readable. A good place to start your search...
