Chavarah Committee Shabbat Oneg for websiteA Chavurah is a group of CST members who meet from time to time to share a meal, take a hike, enjoy a ball game, or participate in any number of interesting activities. There are many existing Chavurot to join, or consider starting one of your own. Caring Committee

Compassionate care - home Sacred Heart Foundation

Bikkur Holim, visiting the sick, being there for people when they are in need, is a basic Jewish value, and an essential element of a caring community like Shomrei Torah. Shomrei Torah members want to be there to help each other when we are down, and we want you to know you can call for help when you are in need.

Recently we have experienced an increased request for food deliveries to CST members in need of help after surgery, cancer treatment, chronic illness, etc. When you are making soup or a main dish and could make extra food, it would be most appreciated. We can help to make the delivery if you don’t drive. You don’t need to become a committee member to participate in this mitzvah.

Please contact the office if you can offer an occasional gift of food. Thank you!

Cancer Resource Team At Your Service

If you were recently diagnosed with cancer, other members of the congregation have experienced similar challenges and want to help. Would you like someone to talk with you and/or members of your family? CST will listen, answer your questions and hold your hand. Contact Susan Richter to be paired up with someone on the resource team. For those who may be interested in joining the team, please contact the office to be put in touch with the project leader.

Connections Committee

Remember the survey you filled out last spring with your membership renewal? Since then, the new Connections Committee has compiled the information and started making phone calls to members who indicated they would like to become more involved in the synagogue.
If you have not received a call or even if you haven’t turned in your survey and need a starting point for joining some of the educational, social action or just plain social groups at the temple, contact the temple office or one of the Connections Committee members.
